Reading- We focused on the name, sound, and formation of l,h, and k this week. We read a book called At School. Each kid had their own copy to read. We practiced pointing to each word, using the pictures to figure out words, and finding the sight word “we”. We also worked on noticing the beginning sounds of words and figuring out what letter words should start with. We continued to play sound games to help us break apart and put sounds together which are essential skills for reading.
Writing- We learned about what a personal narrative is this week. We practiced using all our writing skills to tell true stories from our lives.
Math: We used pictures, our fingers, and objects to visualize and solve number stories this week. We made a shape graph and played 10 Bean spill to make combinations of 10.
Science/ Social Studies- We enjoyed a Mystery Science video about why we have a skull. We had a woolly worm visit our class to help us learn about what living things need.
